COVID 19 – A message for Omnicell UK&I customers

18th Mar 2020

Omnicell UK is closely monitoring the coronavirus (COVID-19) situation and taking steps to help prevent the spread of the virus in line with Government advice. We have established a dedicated team to manage our business response.

We recognise our customers are on the front line of this pandemic and we are committed to supporting you to provide critical patient care, whilst also keeping your patients, employees and our employees safe.

We continue to closely monitor the evolving situation and are sharing an update on our response plan as it relates to your ongoing needs.

Omnicell has taken the following actions related to the COVID-19 pandemic:

  • Customer Support:
Our customer support functions will continue as normal and you should continue to contact us in the usual way.
  • Supply Chain:
We have our own warehouse and logistics team at our headquarters in the UK who remain operational. We had already increased inventory as part of our Brexit preparations and as a result do not currently anticipate any supply interruption. We are continuing to monitor the situation.
  • Customer Site Visits:
Our field staff team will contact you ahead of any visits to your healthcare setting to understand any additional infection control measures you have put in place on site so we can follow them alongside our own preventative measures.
  • Travel:
We are prioritising travel that is essential to implementations, service and support and our field staff teams remain operational. We have prohibited non-essential travel.
  • Meetings:
We are using remote communication technology and have suspended participation in face to face group meetings and events.
  • Flexible Work Arrangements:
We have implemented our work from home procedures where applicable and all staff who can work from home are now doing so.
  • Active Self-Screening:
We have instructed employees to follow Government guidelines to self-monitor and to self-isolate if they or anyone in their home starts displaying symptoms.
  • Business continuity for critical services: We have identified the teams that we need to keep operational to be able to support customers throughout the pandemic to ensure critical service continuity. We have created emergency stand in teams for these functions should resources become depleted as a result of the virus.

This is a dynamic event and our dedicated pandemic response team will continue to monitor the situation alongside Government guidelines. We will continue to communicate updates related to our support of your operations as needed.
